I Don't Know
I don’t know
I don’t know what next,
I don’t know when it will end
I don’t know when His promise will come
I don’t know how events are unfolding
I don’t know what I have no knowledge of.
Mostly, these are the answers I got from myself, the inner thoughts, during
trial phases in life
But I know two things, I know I can choose to be drowned by my thoughts,
the trials and life generally. However, I was created with a free will,
hence I make a choice. I choose to live, because my happiness doesn’t
depend on the trials. It is in my hands.
I know His words are true, so is His promise. He is as He calls Himself. Al
Mujeeb, The Answerer. I know I am dealing with a Lord who is Most Generous,
I turn to Him when things become unbearable. I cast away all discouraging
thoughts that make me feel helpless and I focus on success. I focus on
giving. I focus on learning and teaching new things. These make it look as
if the end to the trial phase is near. The succour is here!
It drives home the ayah of Quran where Allah said “the Help of Allah is
near”. He said in Q2;214
Or think you that you will enter Paradise without such (trials) as came to
those who passed away before you? They were afflicted with severe poverty
and ailments and were so shaken that even the Messenger and those who
believed along with him said, “When (will come) the Help of Allah?” *Yes!
Certainly, the Help of Allah is near!*
I know of a great woman who turns a hell of calamity into a paradise. The
great sahabiyah Umm Sulaym, wife of Abu Talha, who set a great patience at
losing a child and Allah compensated her greatly.
I know Hadith of Ibn Abbas (May Allah be pleased with them) that said: One
day, I was riding behind the Prophet (SAWS) when he said, “O boy! I will
instruct you in some matters. Be watchful of Allah (Commandments of Allah),
He will preserve you. Safeguard His Rights, He will be ever with you. If
you beg, beg of Him Alone; and if you need assistance, supplicate to Allah
Alone for help. And remember that if all the people gather to benefit you,
they will not be able to benefit you except that which Allah had
foreordained (for you); and if all of them gather to do harm to you, they
will not be able to afflict you with anything other than that which Allah
had pre-destined against you. The pens had been lifted and the ink had
dried up”. (At-Tirmidhi).
I know I am not alone. If there is anything that changes Qadr, it is Duaa.
Surely, I will keep asking
? Be Inspired, you and I will not be burdened more than we can bear
